World Cup 2015 Quarter Finals, New Zealand vs. West Indies Preview
New Zealand has remained unbeaten in the pool games and is one of the favorites in the tournament. In their journey to the title, the co-host of the world cup 2015, will face the unpredictable and unbalanced West Indies under lights in Wellington on 21 March, Saturday.
The 30,000 seating capacity stadium in Wellington is expected to see a packed house when the home team takes on the West Indies in the last eight stage. West Indies who have just about made it to the quarter finals after the poor performance in the pool stage, would believe they have a chance against the New Zealand.
New Zealand on the other hand have looked the best side, only alongside India, thus far in the tournament. The team hasn’t dropped a game and their bowling and batting has been firing from all cylinders.
One thing that remains to be seen is how New Zealand will fair out in the crunch situation, when the opposition scores a hefty total. In the tournament thus far, their bowling hasn’t been tested so much in the death overs, and their lower middle orders hasn’t been exposed much. If West Indies, who will probably play without their star opener Chris Gayle (battling with a back injury), manage to take quick wickets they will have a fair chance to show the Kiwis a way out of the tournament.
